Searching with Google

Check out Google's guide to refining searches to search the open web more efficiently! A few highlights:

  • Use "site:" followed by the domain to narrow down the search to one domain. Example: constitution site:.gov
  • To exclude a word, use "-". Example: president -vice
  • Put a phrase inside quotation marks to search that exact phrase. Example: "vice president"
