New Deal DBQ: Home

Prompt

The New Deal is one of the most polarizing, transformative, and grand initiatives in the history of America. Critics see the New Deal as establishing a bad precedent for the government’s involvement in the economy, as socialist, too expensive, wasteful, and ineffective. Supporters of the New Deal argue that it was effective, praise the government’s involvement in the economy, and see it as an appropriate expansion of government power. Taking into account our unit of study and your own personal values and beliefs, how should Americans today feel about the New Deal?
